Hello and welcome to this weeks edition of Trivia Tuesday. I hope everyone had a great Halloween holiday. I sure did, as I dressed up as Jason Voorhees and scared little kids to death. Anything better than that? So here is this weeks question...

What was the top U.S. grossing horror film of 1982?

Good Luck!

Trivia tuesday!

Hello again my fellow horror minions! Another week has come and passed which can only mean one thing.. drum roll please..... Trivia Tuesday!! This weeks question I chose because of the experiences and encounters I had this past week. I was able to meet a living horror icon, R.A. Mahailoff. Most noted for his bloody and brutal betrayal of Leatherface in, LEATHERFACE: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. As Always I bid you good luck and as we get closer and closer to all of ours favorite Holiday, Happy Hauntings!

How much did the chainsaw used in the film, LEATHERFACE: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, weigh?

Trivia Tuesday!

Hello again fellow horror fans! Before you get too excited thinking this is a full entry, I must warn you that it is not ( insert sad face here ). Actually it is a new game that I am debuting on every one's favorite blog ( insert happy face here )! Every Tuesday I will host a trivia contest. The questions may be about anything to do with horror entertainment, including film, literature, music and also paranormal activity, beings, sightings and encounters.. You didn't think I was going to make it easy for you, did you? The first person to leave a comment with the correct answer will be the winner. Don't get too excited though, as your prize is the satisfaction that you know just about as much "useless" information as I do. Yes I am quite aware that we live in the 21st century and how easy it is to find out information on the Internet. So I pose you with this challenge. Can you find the answer without typing the exact question into that terrific little rectangle we call the google search bar? So without further rambling I present you with your trivia question...

What event is associated with this quote " I, Bill Bartlett swear on a stack of bibles that I saw this creature "

Good luck to everyone!

The Depths Of Fear

Hello everyone,

before I start filling your head with my thoughts, reviews and general commentary of the state of horror today, I do believe introductions are in order. I'll go first, I'm Josh, a twenty-three year old married man living in Lincoln, Nebraska. I have had a life long love for horror ( hence this blog and Halloween tattoo located on my shoulder ). I have a massive and growing rapidly horror film collection. I'm also an avid collector of horror memorabilia. I will be covering a wide variety of subjects in this, my own little writing corner of the world, all to do with horror entertainment. From thoughts and original short stories to news and reviews. Speaking of reviews, if you have a film that you would like ( in my own mind ) expert critique on leave me a request for it and I will try to get to it. I will be taking a very classical approach to my reviewing, a scale of one to ten severed heads. What? You weren't thinking i was going to say stars, were you? Well, with all this being said I will leave you with my first "thought" of this blog. Strangely enough entitled, The Depths Of Fear. Leave me a comment and hope you enjoy!

You're lying in bed, almost asleep and you hear something. It's coming from the hallway outside your room. A loud thud, then another and another. It sounds as if someone is walking down the hall but that can't be because you're the only one in your house. You lay still, listening. Did it stop? No, you hear another step; it's still out there. But what exactly is "it"? Is it a person? Did someone break into your house? No, I would have heard them breaking in, you think to yourself. The sound is so close now; your heart is beating faster and faster. You sit up in anticipation of the door being swung open and your face-to-face encounter with your "hallway intruder". Your eyes are fixed on the door but nothing happens. You listen but you can't hear anything. Everything is silent once again. You slowly get up out of your bed and walk towards your door. You put your head on the door and listen carefully but you hear nothing. You grab the doorknob and turn it slowly and open it. You look out into the hall but all you see is darkness. No one is there; you turn on the hall light and find that everything is exactly how it should be. No intruder, no footsteps, nothing stolen. Was it nothing all along? No, you're positive that you heard something... or did you? I mean you are tired after all and it's getting really late now. It must have just been my imagination playing tricks on me, you think to yourself as you climb back in bed. You lay there for a couple minutes in the darkness and silence of your room. You close your eyes and feel like you are just about to fall asleep when you hear it. No, not the footsteps. This is coming from outside, from just outside your window. It sounds as if someone is there, scratching, trying to get in.Your heartbeat starts to rise. The scratching sound comes again but this time it's accompanied by a voice. A softly spoken whisper. What is it saying? You can't quite make it out but you know it's there, and the scratching... It won't stop.. What do they want!!?? You sit up and slowly reach your hand to your window curtain and open it expecting to see someone there, but for the second time tonight you see nothing.. Was it just the wind blowing a tree branch and producing the disembodied voice that you swore you heard? Or was it something else? Something more terrifying than just the wind? Will you ever know? Maybe not and would you even want to know if you could? Or do you just want to leave it up to the "wind"? So the next time that you hear or see something that could easily be explained maybe you should stop and think about it. Maybe it's not all that normal after all. Maybe it's something that lurks in the very depths of your fear.
